Position/Title: Senior Contracts Administrator

Reports to: Clinical Contracts Manager

  1. Function

    As a member of the Contracts Department, this position will be responsible for partnering with the Clinical Operations personnel to develop and administer clinical trial agreements and other contracts to facilitate clinical trials. This position will perform contract administration that includes analyzing, updating, organizing and filing completed contracts and maintaining contract database tracking system. This position will interface with Accounting, Finance, Legal and other functional areas to ensure clinical contracts are appropriately managed within approved budget and contract parameters for specific projects. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a fast paced company and this person will have the opportunity to assist in developing, improving and maintaining innovative contract management processes for multiple teams.

  2. Specific Responsibilities and Activities
    1. Negotiate, develop, process and execute standard clinical contracts (e.g. non-disclosure agreements, consulting agreements, clinical trial agreements, etc.) with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), clinical laboratories, research/clinical consultants, clinical research sites and institutions and other vendors and external suppliers that provide clinical-related service to Company.
    2. Review, analyze and evaluate contract language to ensure consistency with negotiation parameters and current Company legal standards.
    3. Track, manage and monitor all clinical contracts and budgets.
    4. Ensure Company adherence to contract approval process, including verifying that internal requirements are met, monitor status, securing signatures, etc.
    5. Update clinical contract tracking system to ensure timely performance.
  3. Requirements
    1. Education: - BA/BS and 2-5 years experience in preparing and managing contracts in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Paralegal certification a plus.
    2. Training and Experience:
      1. A working knowledge of legal aspects of contracting and the ability to understand contract language and quickly identify/communicate any risks or liabilities.
      2. Excellent communication, writing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and a careful attention to detail.
      3. Must have the ability to deal with people effectively and diplomatically, especially in negotiating or in a project team environment. Must be flexible in responding to job demands and changing priorities.
      4. Strong abilities with Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as with document comparison and contract management software.
      5. Good judgment and the ability to think strategically and formulate creative and practical business solutions.
      6. A proven ability to multi-task, execute effectively and to thrive in a dynamic environment.
